Jeremy Johannsen has been with the District Conservationist at Boone County for 15 years. Jeremy started with USDA NRCS in 1997. He enjoys going to Iowa State Cyclone football and basketball games with his wife Angie and friends!

Sarah Hanson has been with us since late 2024. She is from Stanhope, original from Osage, Iowa. Her family has a cow-calf operation and farmland that they farm as well. Sarah has two boys, Mason and Emory. She enjoys watching her son, Mason, play baseball and football!

IDALS Summer Intern
Grace Watkins-Schoenig is our IDALS Summer/Fall Intern. She is from Chariton, Iowa. Grace attends Iowa State University, and is double majoring in Global Resource Systems and Agriculture & Rural Policy. Grace will graduate from ISU in May of 2027! Grace enjoys traveling the world and experiencing new adventures with friends and family!

Justin Grieff

Justin is the Beaver Creek Watershed Coordinator. He graduated with a degree in Environmental Science from Wartburg College in 2024. Where he was also part of the Wartburg football team. Justin enjoys spending his time in the outdoors and watching his favorite sports teams.

Andrew Mehus

Biologist
Andrew Mehus is the Farm Bill Biologist for Boone, Greene, Webster, and Calhoun counties. He grew up in Cochrane, WI, working on an elk farm, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management. Andrew enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, hunting, and especially fly fishing with his wife.
